Mesa’s Danny Eaton (Axeon Cycling Team) finished 10th overall and as the top American Monday at the UCI Road World Championship U23 time trial.
The 22-year-old finished with a time of 37:54.89, just behind the top European riders from Denmark, Germany and Norway. Mads Wurtz Schmidt from Denmark won gold with a top time of 37:10.96.
It’s been a successful year for Eaton – he also donned the Most Aggressive Rider Jersey in this year’s Tour of Utah, and he won the 2015 USA Cycling U23 Time Trial Championships.
